Good news.

We just learned that the boy from Esther's room will be coming back to say good-bye and to get the keepsakes we've made for him.  :)  We are so happy he is with a family that thinks it's important for this to happen.  Esther made a picture book of his classmates and teaching staff.  In several they are holding a big banner they made saying "We Miss You, Sam!"  The kids drew pictures for him.  I brought a fleece blanket that had angels on it and we all signed it and then gave it a big group hug, so that Sam can always wrap our hugs around himself.

Maybe this will be one of those happy endings.  I hope so.

Another happy event is that a girl who had almost become a social pariah finally got her ADHD medicine.  Her parents hadn't provided it for almost a year and the results were disastrous.  She was becoming so isolated and so unliked.  But the turnaround was amazing.  One of the other 3rd graders told Esther that K was the first one done with the math assignment and she got them all right!  We told K it was doubly good:  she did a good job and her classmate was proud of her!
